Life in Abundance

1723 Bryant Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55411

Thank You to Our Broadway Beat Officers and the Fourth Precinct!

Our pastor, Father Michael O’Connell, is fond of saying that before we can make any improvements in our lives or in our city, before we can attend to the matters of the soul, safety is fundamental. Without a safe place to work, to study, to love or to pray, we won’t get anywhere. When it comes to safety, nobody is working harder to ensure it for Ascension and our North Minneapolis Neighbors than the Broadway Beat Officers and the men and women of the Fourth Precinct. These people are out there every day — and every night — making sure our North Minneapolis is the safe, flourishing place that we know it to be.

As a way of showing our gratitude, our friends at the East Gateway Partnership hosted a picnic in Ascension’s Peace Garden for the night shift of the Broadway Beat. With delicious fried chicken, beans and corn provided by Broadway’s own Louisiana Fried Chicken, soft drinks from Merwin’s, and Kemp’s ice cream sandwiches, a fine time was had by officers and neighbors alike on one of the most gorgeous evenings of the summer.

In light of everything the Fourth Precinct does to make our North Minneapolis community the safe place it is, this is just one small way we say, “Thank you!”
